Home From North Dakota

July 26, 2010

Last weekend we packed our bags and flew out to my home state of North Dakota for my cousin’s wedding. We had a great time with family. and of course had to visit my Aunt and Uncle’s 100 year old farm. I wanted to take my daughter out into the golden wheat fields for a few pictures. Here are a few from our trip and my cousin’s wedding.

julie: Lovely! What a beautiful little girl in the field. Maybe a future in weddings:)

As many of you know, I don’t typically photograph weddings. Emily is a dear friend and co-worker and it was honor for me to be apart of capturing this amazing time in their life. Em and Jason have finally tied the knot and I couldn’t be more happy for them! A sneak peek of the happy couple!

Dawn: So great!! You should keep doing weddings! You make the shoot personal and really capture the feel!

Jenn Mountain: You are AMAZING Amy!!! I absolutely LOVE all the pictures and can not wait to see the rest! Great job!!

Kristin: You did such a good job of capturing both their personalities! What an amazing job...they are both glowing!!

Words can not even express the true honor it was to work with Mary Spio. I have never met a woman more accomplished and inspirational. If you do not know her story, I suggest you google it. She inspires me to strive to be great! The opportunity to work with her was beyond humbling. Thank you Mary… for everything! It was a complete pleasure!
For those of you that may not know her, Mary has worn several hats…. a rocket scientist, an entrepreneur, patent holder, and digital media expert. She truly is an amazing and inspiring woman!

Sissy: AND she's gorgeous!

Lisbeth: Inspiring is right!

Kristin Durfee: Love the pictures on the chair! These turned out beautiful!!

Almost two weeks post surgery and feeling great! I drove today for the first time and am so glad to be feeling a little bit ‘back to normal’. I can’t wait to get back into photographing sessions! My next newborn baby girl session was welcomed into the world yesterday and I am soo excited for her family! I can’t wait to meet them and capture these precious memories! So what would a post be without some pictures… some past favorites of a baby girl that I have not shared with you yet. This is the little princess from all those awesome pull back shots I posted previously. Now you can see how they turned out!

Enjoy,

Proud to say that her Daddy serves in the United States Coast Guard. My hubby too served in the Coast Guard and this has such a special meaning to me and this family!

Her precious big brothers!

Lisa: aww... sweetness!

Andrea: Another amazing job! I love all the props you used, though I think the bed shot is my favorite.

Tammy: Hi Amy, I think your photography is amazing! I was wondering where you got the wood floor underneath the peapod? I have been looking everywhere for one and I can only find it coming from Australia!

Amy: Thanks Tammy! It's a bamboo desk floor mat. Purchased from ABC distributors

Hi…. It’s Me

February 25, 2010

It’s not often that I step on the other side of the lens but I had fun tonight shooting my kiddies and thought I would join in the fun. I picked up another prop… the brick ‘flooring/wall’ and wanted to test it out before my upcoming newborn sessions for this weekend and next week. When you get to know me, I’m very laid back, very patient, happy, friendly… I’m a “people-person”. I have met so many wonderful people amongst this journey and it has been an incredible experience. Thank you so much for inviting me into your lives and letting me capture your precious memories! It’s an honor!

OK, so this is me trying to be serious (hard for me to do as I always have a smile on my face)

Candice: love the self portraits! 10 second timer, remote, or helpful husband :) *I've used all three*

Tennessee Vacation

January 13, 2010

We just got back from our Tennessee Vacation to the mountains to see snow. This was the first time our girls have seen snow and we had a total blast. I hope to do this every year. There were record colds in Tennessee, across the globe actually. The roads were iced over and there was a lot of snowfall. We nearly didn’t make it to our cabin. We parked our cars at the bottom of the mountain and a local resident drove us and our luggage up to the cabin. We had a lot of fun though! Here are a few snapshots from our trip. I am back to sessions this Thursday with another newborn so stay tuned for a sneak peek!

KShiell: Isn't it lovely?! My husband and I went to the mountains in Tennessee for our honeymoon a few years ago. We went in September and it was incredible! Great pictures! Was your daughter really out without pants on? Brrr! That looks cold!

Meet Logann! I photographed her just over 7 months ago for her newborn pictures and I cannot believe how much she has grown!! This is definitely my second favorite age to photograph! Their personalities really start to shine through. Logann was such a perfect little model for me! Here is a sneak peek from her session, more sneak peeks to come, I’m sure!

p.s. A special thanks to my fabulous friend, Lisbeth, for making me some awesome headbands, bows, and tutu halter dresses! You’re the best!

Happy Birthday Madelyn! I can’t believe how much you have grown this past year! It has been such a joy to photograph you and to watch you grow. You are one beautiful little girl! Happy Birthday!

This location is probably my new favorite spot!
