My Very Own Family

November 30, 2009

Every year for the holidays, my very dear friend and fellow photog, Kristi Smith, and I get together and do a Family Holiday Session swap. Kristi photographs my family and then I get together with her and photograph her family. We shoot with eachother’s memory cards and we edit our own favorites. Then we swap files so that we can keep any images for our portfolios that we love. It’s so much fun to see a compilation of our work together. My kids love Kristi and she is amazing behind the camera. She captured every essense of my family and I am forever grateful for her! I am thrilled with our session and I had to share my favorites. I stayed up all night editing these because I just couldn’t go to bed without finishing them. My husband finally pried me off the computer and told me to go to bed.
Well, not to keep you any longer…. Here is a sneak peek! (I’ll also post some from Kristi’s family session later for you to see)

Stacey Purvis: I'm in love with the pose in the first shot!

Lisbeth: Lovin' the new blog header!!!!!

{amanda}: ooo la la! Oh how I do love your newborn work Amy! Beautfiul posing and such FUN props. The mom must be jumping up and down excited! I love that first one so much.

Connie: I love all the pictures! The one with the rings on the little feet - perfect!

Lisa: Awesome work! My fav is the first one!

I almost forgot to blog Sarah’s newborn session we did at three weeks of age. Typically, I try to schedule newborns within 5-10days of age, this is their curly, sleepy stage and the older they become, the more alert they are and the more they enjoy to stretch out. It’s a cute change to see a newborn session with their eyes open, it does make it more difficult to pose them if they are not asleep, but all my clients typically love the open eyes shots the most! Sarah’s family is special to me as her older (2 yr old) brother was my very first newborn session and probably one of my first sessions at that! It’s amazing what two years of experience has done for me and it was such a treat to capture these memories for them. Sarah was born early weighing in at 5 pounds, she is now 6.5 pounds and doing wonderful! Pictures can be soo deceiving though, they are soo incredibly tiny! Sarah was precious and so alert for her age. Congrats Rachel, thank you for letting me capture these memories!

and her proud big brother, Josh

Stacey Purvis: I love this shoot, it's nice to see eyes open-so precious!

Is there anything more beautiful than an expecting mother? I just HAD to share more from this session.

Lisa: These are sweet images. Love the different compostion in each of the images. I am looking forward to another maternity session next week.

Lisbeth has had her Family Session booked for nearly 4 months now and she knew way back then that she wanted to do her christmas family photos at the orange groves. The oranges are in season this time of year and it made for a fun backdrop! I’m seriously contemplating having my own family pictures here at this spot! Here is a sneak peek at the fun we had today!

Mandy: That third picture down is SO amazing. I hope they get it HUGE. Wow...love your processing on these too.

Brenda = Stephanie and Melissa's mom: What a Beautiful family! Your baby is soooo adorable!!!

Lisa: aww... sweet. Love the antique finish.

It was soo great to meet this wonderful couple awaiting their first baby. I am so very excited to meet Jacob in the next 6 weeks or so. Those last weeks always feel like the longest but he will be here before you know it! Thank you Deborah and Sean for letting me capture these memories for you, its truly an honor!

Brandi Combs: Doesn't it just bring a tear to your eye... so sweet!

Jackie Jean: awe these are very sweet...I really love the first and second one

Lisa: That is one huge stocking Amy. Very cute!

Another beautiful family!! They are dear friends of mine and I went to highschool with this mama. We use to cheer together dating all the way back to even city league football. It is so much fun reconnecting with old friends and watching our children play together and form friendships of their own. I can’t hardly believe we are coming up on our 10 year reunion in 2010!
Here is a sneak peek of their session, enjoy!

Lisbeth: Wheyton has such a beautiful family and you captured the love they share perfectly :)
